"Face Off"

1) Taylor is forcing Lorelai to talk about the Doose Reunion, and Lorelai forces Rory to pretend she’s sick to get him to stop talking to her. Rory gives her best pouty face and says “it’s French!” So great. And Rory reading that button (and running) is more than I would ever do faking sick. Taylor’s gullible, though.
2) Rory and Lorelai are eating really, really fast, because they both have plans. Emily forces them (like they’re little) to stay until they tell what’s going on. They have a classic “Rory-Lorelai” fight. Not really a fight, but you know, a “did not!” “did too!” moment.
3) The girls get home and Rory finds no messages. Lorelai’s adorable brown boots that I really am jealous of… are actually in the closet. Whoa, whose universe are we in again? Rory decides to stay at home.
4) The next day, Rory rants about how productive her night was, and how bummed she is that Dean would have called but Jess didn’t. Lorelai reminisces about Brian Hutchins, her terrible first boyfriend. Sounds a lot like my first boyfriend, who asked me to dance and then told me he hated me.
5) The girls go to Luke’s, and Luke is glad they don’t care about hockey. They inform Luke that after he ranted, they think he should know that track is for dorks. If Luke does it, it’s not dorky. My official ruling. Jess is then informed that he is currently in a fight with Rory. It was kind of a one sided fight if you ask me, but that’s okay.
6) Zach is not a great singer, but he sings about a “bulwark”… and they change the words to the hymn to make it unrecognizable. I think I’ll sing that at church next week.
7) Emily shows up at the inn, and after trying to avoid the subject, Emily owns up to the fact that Trix is driving her crazy. I find her greatly amusing. Probably because I’m on Lorelai’s side of all of this.
8) Lane goes out with her fake boyfriend, and Mrs. Kim takes a picture of them (not smiling) and shoos them out while the Christian Combo plays at her event. Poor Dave.
9) Lorelai gets the thought into Rory’s head that she should go out and not wait for Jess, because he doesn’t deserve waiting for, especially at 6 on a Saturday night. She convinces Rory to go with Lane and Lane’s fake boyfriend. Lorelai’s version of a hockey game is quite amusing, but nowhere near the truth…
10) Emily walks into her house and sees Trix making out with a man in a purple jogging suit. It’s all pretty awkward, obviously, because she runs, and I’m slightly grossed out.
11) Dave gets jealous of Lane’s fake boyfriend, and runs a mile to see Lane. Dave’s reassured when he finds out Karen is Lane’s fake boyfriend’s girlfriend. Lindsay also makes an appearance, and Rory’s confused as to why she’s being standoffish. I would be, too. That perfect hair and makeup is so annoying.
12) Lorelai and Jess talk at the front door, and Jess realizes that Rory’s at the hockey game, and he’s not. Jess leaves and Lorelai seems to think Brian Hutchins is better than Jess. Uh, from the sound of it, yeah.
13) Dun dun dun… Lindsay is kissing Dean! And it comes as a shock to all!
14) Rory didn’t expect Dean to pine for her, except for a little while. I’d somewhat expect a slight pining break, but that’s okay. I’m not a major Dean fan, anyway.
15) Kirk’s announcing skills are lacking, as he knows nothing about hockey… uh, that’s kind of a must if you’re announcing for a sport… you’d kinda have to know all about it.
16) Trix introduces Lorelai to her friends… see, it’s funny to think Trix is also Lorelai. That’s because I just know her as Trix. Emily takes her sabotage on Trix to the next level by not only singing, but ratting out Trix and her purple jogging suit man. Like I’ve said before, always listen to Lorelai. She’s ALWAYS right. Well, almost, but 99% of the time she is, at least when giving other people advice… not in her own life, necessarily.
17) The Minutemen lose, and Rory talks to Dean sans proper etiquette, according to Rory. They talk about Lindsay, and how happy Rory is for Dean, and she brings up the Mark Twain magnet. I can only imagine that magnet…
18) Rory leaves a ranting message on Luke and Jess’s answering machine… and she has to add “this is a message for Jess” after. Haha, it’s kind of funny. I can imagine Luke coming home, really confused, thinking about what that message was supposed to mean. That would have been funny.
19) Richard and Lorelai talk about Emily and Trix, and Lorelai makes a joke about the Nike slogan, which I totally thought of in my head the second time I saw this episode, but then I realized who gave the joke.
20) Rory goes to bed without hearing about the Trix and jogging suit man, how she could? I don’t know.

I have to do like 3 more commentaries. I am so bad at keeping up with all of them.

Until I get around to "I am Kayak, Hear Me Roar"...
