SYTYCD Top 8
Right so you know I wouldn't let this go without a few (ahem) comments.
First off the thing that sticks out to me throughout the show is how much I love the guest judge. His face got all red when he was excited. The rest of this is all out of order I am sure, I should take notes, but i get too into it.
1. Flame away, but I didn't like Mia Michaels routine this week. I know. I love her. I found it more of a interpretive dance than an actual choreographed piece. Having said that, props to her for the inspiration. And finally getting Lacey to not act like a slut.
2. Dominic and Lauren. LOVED the Rumba the costume on her was unbelievavble, and then they actually KISSED at the end, almost twice. It was seriously hot. I actually voted this week, normally I just write snarky comments, but I want them to stay suddenly. What a story line!! The Crumping was awkward, but that has to be the hardest type of dance to do if you aren't trained and or naturally just good at it.
3. OK I watched Sara this time. Still nothing, Although the Tango was hot and she was good in it, I just wasn't impressed. I will honestly be surprised if she lasts much longer, plus that hip hop, SHane man, seriously that was cruel. Awful and I have those spandex pants at home, we had to wear them for high school dance team, they don't look good on ANYONE.
4. Sabra and Pasha- Sabra was fantastic again, but I didn't love the Broadway piece, the Qucikstep was ridiculous though, fantastic. Still Sabra keeps showing these men up.
5. Neil- he should win this whole thing, he blows my mind, and I loved their first piece, so different, even if they didn't give a rats ass abut one another...
So who is leaving?
Sara for sure should be.
I think Neil is the only safe guy right now, despite the fact that Danny can do 8 pirouettes (Jesus, Mary and Joseph I was so proud when I did 4). I would Like Pasha to go if only so I can see this whole Lauren-Dominic thing unravel...
But really I am excited to see the group routines tonight, hopefully they will start getting better, seriously, last year is kicking this year's butt in terms of that.

Now who is ready for a nice cold shower. I suddenly just got incredibly jealous. My boyfriend never kisses me like that, maybe I should get that outfit...

Finally Sara is gone. Sorry for those of you who loved her... I guess I just never jumped on that train.
And I take it all back, I am glad Dominic is gone. What a Ham. But Pasha is gone next week, sorry kidos.
So was that Lauren who took the lead in the group dance? I was trying so hard to ffigure out who it was that I neglected to really enjoy it. They just aren't measuring up this year in my mind. I loved the Imogen Heap number last year.
PS: Lacey's solo was to The Rocket Summer...same band her brother used in his solos. Her solo sucked, nothing to it, just leg flicking...oooo so impressive.
But back to the band. I went to high school with the lead singer. Check them out, he is seriously talented.
AND OneRepublic's song has been on repeat on my ipod for about 3 weeks, so that was a treat last night, although I think the remix of the song is better.
What did you think of Neil being in the bottom 2?

I was shocked that he was and Danny wasn't. Dominic leaving was good for the show, because he really has nothing left to offer.
Not shocked that Sara was out, because she didn't have the tweeny support, but whatever. I thought she was the best female on the show, and definately better than Lacey or Lauren.
I am over that silly little fruity leg kick that Danny does everytime he's out of trouble..it was funny the first time, last night, he did it twice, just to make sure we saw it....stupid.
As time goes on and I watched the Mia Michaels routine again, I really wasn't impressed by it....it was no better than something you might see at a kids dance recital or a dance contest like star power.
Agreed

I was shocked, I think with Neil, everyone knows how amazing he is so they don't vote for him, that would be my guess. It was my resasoning. I am not a huge fan of Danny's but he is technically much better than Pahsa... can you imagine Pasha in a music video or on someone's tour?? I could see him doing Broadway or something but that is about it.
Agreed, Mia Michaels pretty much just insured that we couldn't say anything bad because of the nature of the routine, but I flat out hated it.
And I really hate to say it, but you are out of your mind if you think Sara was the best female dancer. But I guess we can agree to dissagree on that one.

OK, let me mention that previous to this dance I was a huge fan of hers, and still am. I get what she was going for, I just don't think it had a place on this competition. The whole "dance like no one is watching" is a great sentiment, but in a competition where people ARE watching (like millions of them) it really stick out when you do a half assed leap and don't even point your toes, especially when we all know what you really can do (ahem: NEIL!)
