Oscar Predictions

Hi Kids,

My favorite award show of the year is finally here!  Below are my predictions for this years Oscars.

Best Actor: DANIEL DAY-LEWIS. He has been the front runner for awhile now.  This one is in the bag.

Best Supporting Actor: JAVIER BARDEM. He also has been a front runner for awhile.

Best Actress: JULIE CHRISTIE.  This one was hard for me.  I believe that Marion Cotillard did an amazing job.  Everyone keeps raving about Julie Christie's performance though so I had to go with her.

Best Supporting Actress: CATE BLANCHETT. I hate to say this but I really wasn't moved this year by and of the ladies in this category.  Ruby Dee was on screen for like 5 mins and this is Amy Ryan's first big role.  I know it worked for Jennifer Hudson last year but such a new actress shouldn't be winning.

Animated Feature: RATATOUILLE. That one is easy!

Art Direction: SWEENEY TODD.  I also had a hard time picking this category.  But this is the one mostly likely that the academy will pick.

Cinematography: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.  This is No Country's year and this will be one of the many awards they will be winning.

Costume Design: ATONEMENT: Did you not see Keira's beautiful green dress? If this doesn't win than the academy is more foolish than I thought.

Directing: The Coen Brothers.  The brothers are a favorite and sure to win this category.

Film Editing. THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM. It is proven fact that what ever film wins editing usually goes along to win Best Picture, however I just can't place my vote with No Country.  THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM was amazingly edited and deserves to win.

Makeup: LA VIE EN ROSE:  I may lose this category as well but I just can't vote for Pirates.  Marion completely transformed into her category. Take a look at what she really looks like. It is shocking.

Orginal Score:ATONEMENT: Two words. Typewriter scene.

Original Song: FALLING SLOWLY from ONCE: Haven't seen the movie but this one seems to be a favorite even though ENCHANTED dominated this category with 3 nominations.

Best Picture: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN: Easy and breezy...It is gonna win.

Adapted Screenplay: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN:

Original Screenplay: JUNO: Think Little Miss Sunshine.......
