New Doctor Who episode four. Spoilers!
Doctor Who!!! Spoilers and all that crap.
I have no freaking idea what the name of the new episode is, I’m going to call it Attack of the Giant Taters. I’m perfectly okay with being corrected, because I seriously have no idea what the name of this damn thing was.
So…
This wasn’t my favorite episode, granted it is a two part job and that’s what is so funny, most of the DW two part episodes I don’t care for. Human Nature/Family of Blood are the exception because those rocked. This isn’t doing it for me. I hate military stuff, I’m not a Martha fan (sorry), and I hate it when the Doctor is separated from his companion for too long.
However, that being said I did have some Squee worthy moments. I really loved seeing Ten and Martha together again. I know I just said I didn’t like the girl, but even then it’s cool to see them meet again after a while. And Donna! I love her, I love how she greeted Martha, how she picked up that she was engaged and kept stressing that Ten had said nice things about her. How cute was Ten telling them not to fight, ah memories of Sarah Jane and Rose…
Donna again for the win, she is not afraid to say anything to anyone. “I’ll have a salute.” She is slowly becoming my idol, how great is she to demand exactly what she wants? I love her more than my car (and damn do I want her hair!). Super snoop she is, going around in a place that she really has no business being in and asking the obvious questions.
Loved the little moment with Donna and Martha. I found it a bit distressing in a way that Martha was warning Donna about traveling with the Doctor. I know it was done in a friendly manner, but it bothered me in a way and I don’t know why.
Can we talk about the heart break look of the week? Donna telling Ten she was going home. My God how great was that scene? He was truly heartbroken she was leaving him! And then he did his little temptation thing of all the places he still wanted to take her. But the best little bit was when he finally realized she was just popping home for a visit. Her calling him Dumbo and him looking sheepish just shows the love they already have for each other. I think it’s great.
Ten has a way with his balls doesn’t he? Get your head out of the gutter! I mean throwing balls. That man has mad skills when it comes to throwing, hitting, tossing a ball (or fruit) to disable his enemy.
I love Donna’s grandfather. He is all kinds of wonderful. Great moment when Ten and Gramps meet again. Love the bit where he basically tells Ten to take care of his granddaughter and Ten replies with the best line, “She takes care of me.” Awe…isn’t he sweet?
And I swear if they kill old Gramps, I will fly to England and hunt down RTD and demand to know what he lets his writers do when they are on drugs. Gramps can’t die!
This was more Donna Squee than Doctor Squee, oh well there’s no such thing as bad Squee!
Darling David was in the Blue suit of doom, I hate that suit, makes him look too skinny! But the rest of him looked great as always so I really can’t complain. Dear Donna looked so cute in those yoga pants, I want some of those! I used to say I wanted Rose’s closet, but I’m thinking Donna has the keys to the greatness in the outfit department.
And I forgot! How cool was it that the Doctor was teaching Donna how to fly the TARDIS? Freaking awesome!
