Doctor Who The Poison Sky, Spoilers!
Oh I’m so happy to have power back! You know why? Do you? Because I got to see the new Who tonight!!!
The Poison Sky
Helen Raynor may have let us down with that Daleks in Manhattan bullshit but this lovely two part episode was freaking awesome. Granted the first part had a bit of cheese in it and I was worried about the Martha clone being complete cheese, but all of it worked! The second half was AWESOME!!!
I love Wilf (is that his name? I keep forgetting) I love him like he was a member of my own family. I love that he keeps sending Donna out into the world. He trusts the Doctor completely, got to love that.
Okay a point for Sylvia, she’s got a bloody axe! I’m rather impressed with her skill in using it. My question is, why does she have it? Doesn’t seem there are many trees in the area that need chopping.
I’m loving the Donna/Doctor relationship more and more. I love how he keeps building up her fragile ego. Granted she’s a strong girl, but I think she doesn’t have enough faith in herself sometimes. Points to her for forging ahead and doing what the Doctor asks of her. How much to you love her slight bit of victory hip tilt after she takes down the bad guy with the freaking HAMMER?
Totally digging the Doctor in this (seriously when don’t we dig the Doctor?) I love how he was already onto Martha from moment one. Even I could tell he knew what she was before he told the clone. And hey Martha you might feel good at the idea that Ten did notice those little details about you, so maybe you can forgive him for pretending to not notice you had a thing for him.
Finally Ten gives his coat to a lady when she needs it. And damn is Freema that small or is that coat just freakishly big, or a combination of both? Did you see how that thing just swamped her? Love the engagement ring by the way, and I’m surprised she didn’t rip that thing off the clone’s finger.
Okay the kid is just crazy, which is pretty damn obvious. Did you see the crazy eye thing he did? All the crazy bad guys do that. It’s a requirement.
Did anyone else cry when Ten made his goodbye speech? I did, well not a full blown cry, but my eyes misted a bit. And I’m with the Sontarans (I have no idea how to spell it) if the Doctor was serious about killing those bastards he would cut the chit chat and just do it. But we all know that even though the Doc has displayed suicidal tendencies in the past, he could never really kill himself. However points to the Crazy Bug Eyed Kid for doing something clever and great effect of the switching places with Ten and catching the controller! I thought that was…well, brilliant.
I thought it was so funny that Martha ran over to welcome back the Doctor with a sideways hug, while Donna decides to hit him. You have to love them both.
Loved the ending! You know Martha had to be wetting herself slightly. I think a thought similar to: “Shit! The last time the TARDIS went mental like this I ended up walking the Earth for a year while my family was held by the ever sexy Master! Take me back you mother-,” I’m probably wrong on that one, but you know we were all thinking it.
Ohhhh next week! I can’t wait for next week!
Little bits I loved from this episode. The gas mask bit, “Are you my mummy?” The freaking Valiant is back! Whoot! The conversation between the Doctor sitting in UNIT command and the Tater Head leader on the ship, I had no idea the sonic screwdriver could be used as a remote control…and he switched over to cartoons! The giving of the TARDIS key and the fact it wasn’t like she was receiving the Holy Sacrament, Donna it was a BIG moment! And of course….We saw a bit of Rose yelling/screaming/calling “Doctor!” in the TARDIS monitor before it went back to normal.
Honestly it was the little moments that made this for me, the effects were great, but those little touches, those little moments is what made this a win for me! Sorry so disorganized, but I couldn’t type as fast as my brain was thinking!
