So...what did you think of it? Good, bad, worth the giant budget?

I saw "Hot Fuzz" instead. And actually realized that I've seen none of the Spidermen in the theater, despite loving going to the movies and extravaganzas and comic book stuff...

I saw "Hot Fuzz" too, loved it! Even though the movie pulled in $148 mil, I don't know a single person who saw it...then again I'm in college and it was the weekend of Cinco de mayo.

I saw this on Monday and while I didn't think it sucked, it's definitely my least favorite of the movies. The biggest problem was that they tried to do too much and it ended up making the movie seem like it was 305420949293 hours long. I think the Sandman subplot should've been cut entirely and saved for the next movie. I also think the Black Spider-Man subplot should've been cut (especially where the movie veered into a parody of itself, with that ridonkulous dance sequence), with the goopy stuff going straight to Eddie Brock and creating Venom. I really think the biggest plot of the movie should've been Harry/New Goblin, so it kinda pisses me off that so much time was wasted on other, less compelling subplots, especially since we won't be getting more Harry in future movies. And that makes me cry because James Franco is so awesome. And hot. And awesome.

I floved Topher Grace as Brock/Venom, but his performance just drove home the point that he would've made a MUCH better Peter/Spidey. I like these movies in spite of Tobey Maguire, who I generally think is a wooden douchebag. I also liked Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy, but I think that it's a shame she was reduced to nothing more than The Other Girl. BDH did the best with what she was given, though. Kirsten Dunst was good, I actually liked her singing voice (very retro sound), and her hair color for once looked natural, but I was distracted by her snaggleteeth through the whole movie. And, as always, JK Simmons steals every single scene he's in. Massive love for J. Jonah Jameson.

Anyway, it wasn't a complete suckfest but it could've been much better. It'll be interesting to see if TM and KD return for the 4th movie. I like Kiki as MJ (although I heard rumors that Mandy Moore is in talks to replace her, which would rule) but I'm totally on board with a recast for Peter/Spidey.

If Jake Gyllenhaal took over and rocked more spandex? Mmmmmm..... Anyway, back to reality. I am surprised you like Toper Grace! I hate to love the guy, I just cant picture him in something action/drama. I will probably know see it for Topher...and the guy from Wings!
