Say goodbye to Stars Hollow -- "Gilmore Girls" is officially over. Get out your kleenex.
In a statement to TMZ, the CW and Warner Bros. Television says it is "a truly sad moment for everyone" and promises to "give this series the send-off it deserves."
Sources tell TMZ that there were ongoing negotiations with the suits and the actresses in an effort to bring the show back for another season, but they were unable to seal the deal.

I'm thinking it was the right time to end the show.

I'm really disappointed to hear this. The negotiations were almost done, but it looks like they must've fallen through at the end. It has been a GREAT time recapping the show this year and I am going to miss it A LOT. It's going to be hard knowing the show is over after seven years of seeing the whole cast grow up. I hope they all go on to do more projects, especially Lauren and Alexis.

Can't breathe. I cannot belive this. This is majorly depressing. I might meltdown over this.
Or I'll get over it later. but right now, this is sad, because I thought they might get a deal done.

I know I am right there with you.
This season was so bad for the most part because of the old writers revenge ending of season 6 and now to leave us like this. With only a promise that they get together. BAH to you CW!!!

I would protest (not that they care, the CW especially; I'm just a lowly Canadian who wacthes the show on a Canadian channel) but really, now I'm just sad. I don't think I can watch the last two, now, without being angry.

What will I do to fill the void on Tuesday nights? It's horrible that they announced it with just a few episodes left. This is going to be Full House all over again. Remember how the cancellation was a surprise to everyone and then the last episode was full of flashbacks because Michelle fell off her horse and lost her memory? HORRIBLE!
Nothing...?

Tuesday nights are crucial in my life! I'll feel so empty without Gilmore Girls. *wails* loudly

I concur. It's so hard without my favorite show now! I miss Luke, Lorelai, Rory... all of them!

Good flashback to Full House. One of those Olsens should have won an Emmy for the part of "Michelle's Memory".
Anyway. I am really, really bummed about Gilmore Girls. But I rewatched the finale episode again tonight, and liked it more than I did when it originally aired. Maybe the "This is it" feeling set in. It wasn't the greatest of finales, but truthfully, I don't know what else they could have done with such short time.
Since shooting wrapped before the announcement was made, it's hard for me to believe that they didn't set it up as a series finale. This wasn't a typical season finale.

Absolutely agreed about the last episode being filmed as a series finale. There is no way that ever could have passed for a season finale. Everything was wrapped up far too neatly and quickly.
Actually, I thought the

Actually, I thought the finale was really good. I mean, it was sad, and I don't think I'll ever be able to watch it without crying, but considering everything that had happened earlier in the season and how much time they left themselves to wrap up, I think it was about as good as it could have been.

I don't agree
I posted this already but I don't agree. They leave us hanging with Luke and Lorelai and that SUCKS!!!!
