I am so excited this show is back! \o/
Some thoughts on the newbies:
- Maya is friggin' gorgeous and awesomely fucked up. So, what exactly is her power? Giving people massive brain hemorrhages or something? Her brother's pretty tasty, too.
- West was kind of bugging the hell out of me with his "robot or alien" thing because, hello, rude much? But the reveal that he can fly was pretty rad, aside from the creepy peeping Tom thing. Although, that's going to give Claire some extra daddy issues. Heh. I don't think the actor is very good, though.
- What's the swordmaker's daughter's name? She was pretty badass, not to mention just plain pretty. I loved how instantly smitten Hiro looked when she said she was going to get her father. Hee.
- We didn't see a whole lot of Irish dude so I don't have any opinions on him yet.
And some thoughts on our returning favorites:
- OMGWTF NATHAN? That burn was NASTY. So, does he have a Jessica/Niki-like split personality now? Or is the burn in the mirror just how he imagines his burned, twisted soul would look like if everyone else could see it? Ooooh, deep. Heh. Also, was that Nathan who bumped into Ando in Tokyo? I need to re-watch.
- The Bennet family dinner made me LOL so hard, with the closeup camera work and the forced conversation and the pained expressions on Claire, Lyle, and Noah's faces. LOVE. Also love? Noah breaking his cover to put the fear of god into his toady little manager. I cheered when he did it.
- When Molly mentioned she and Matt were living with Mohinder, I cracked up. Not the slash pairing I would've predicted but hey, I'm all for it. Molly has two daddies. :D
- Nice twist that Mohinder and Bennet are working together to infiltrate the company. And I liked that alchemy power that Stephen Tobolosky's character had.
- MOAR PETER PLZ. I was a little annoyed that we didn't see him until the very end but the amnesia and light-blasting mostly made up for it.
- How did David Anders manage to do a great English accent in Alias but sounded like ass in this? Unless he was trying to do an English accent as someone who has been used to only speaking Japanese for a long time, in which case I give him a pass. I'm not sure how I feel about Kensei. He mostly annoyed me and he punched Hiro, which was just not on. It's like punching a puppy.
- NO, NOT MR. SULU! Any bets on who's taking out the elders of the company? At first I thought it was Peter, but then we saw him in Ireland right after so that doesn't make sense. Maybe it's a new character. Ooooh, maybe it's Kristin Bell's character! That would rock.
