All right, I'm a nerd and late to the party on this one. Why didn't someone previously sit me down and explain the sheer awesomeness that is Christopher Eccleston? Perhaps they could have just explained the humour of David Tennant? Maybe warned me that watching "Doomsday" is not possible without tissues?
Since I'm completely caught up and have been enjoying the episode fairies delivering new ones into my inbox, since this board didn't have a thread for it, I thought, damnit, Doctor Who desrves one!

Torchwood

Actually, my whole theory to do with the Face of Boe's prediction has to do with Torchwood. More specifically, Jack's desk on Torchwood.
I posted this theory months

I posted this theory months ago and look at that, I wasn't far off was I?

I don't think there is enough people out there watching Doctor who.
Seriously, am I the only one

Seriously, am I the only one on here who watches this show? Was I the only one who witnessed the awesome spectacle that was "Human Nature" and "The Family of Blood?"
Please, it was a great plot, great acting and a ton of philosophy and metaness. Really -- isn't that exactly what we all watch the show for?
That's it, if no one on here is going to gush with me, I'm taking this to my blog.
Sorry, Spy...

Nope. Don't watch it. My father is forever saying that I should, but as teenager, I can't listen to my parents. Right?
Although, I might have to watch it now...

my boyfriend loves it but I only watch it once in a while but SciFi isn't always my thing
Don't think of it as sci-fi!
Theoriginalspy

Don't think of it as sci-fi! Think of it as adorkable social commentary!
The Idiot's Lantern: Media Control
The Satan Pit: Religious debate
Father's Day: The importance of the average man
Dalek: No one in a war is ever good, no matter what they believe.
Human Nature / Family of Blood: The ode to the average life / bravery of the common man.
Think of it that way and you'll be much more intellectually stimulated.
People! Master!

All right, RTD, you must be hanging out with the fandom online, because this is exactly what everyone thought would happen.
The master's back! Why am I still the only one on here squeeing about this?

8 & midnight

CBC is starting their Doctor Who run tonight. They're starting out of order with "Smith & Jones" at 8 and then "The Runaway Bride" (Starring a redhead other than Julia Roberts) is at midnight.
For those of you who do not know the joy that is Rose, tonight's episode is an excellent introduction to many of the concepts of The Doctor -- and an excellent introduction to Martha. (Okay, so she goes downhill for a couple of episodes but hang on until "Human Nature", and I promise you, she redeems herself. Even I take back what I've previously said about her.)

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Doctor Who (I was a MESS after Doomsday), but I've only seen the episodes up to "Gridlock" and I haven't seen any Torchwood yet, so I have to wait until Amazon picks it up, so STOP TALKING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS!!! arghrhsgskgjnlnhrrrrrrrrrnnn!!!
By the way, am I the only one who has noticed that Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who?

Okay, Spy. I'm going to have to watch an episode. And do some research. I'll get back to you when I do.

No. Torchwood was the name the BBC "Filed" the episodes under to avoid them being gakked for the internet. Hence the series.
Oh, and Lola's totally right; the idea of another Whovian makes me very happy!

You are not the only one, vmars, although to be fair I didn't notice till I saw it in the liner notes of the Season 2 DVD. But sometimes I like to pretend I discovered it on my own. :P

Oh Russell T. Davies, I'd better get the normal Tennant back next week, please! This better not be a set-up for a regeneration.
Best line:
Doctor: You fancy someone and they don't know you exist.
Jack: You too? (Looking at Martha.)
I hear you on that one, spy.

I hear you on that one, spy. Elderly DT is disturbing. But it can't be a regeneration, as he's signed on for Series 4.
I literally don't think I can handle the wait till next weekend and the finale.

Glad to be of service! God knows I don't know anyone in real life who watches the show. :D
Same here, if this is anywhere near as heartbreaking and chaotic as Doomsday, I forsee my head actually exploding, and I feel like it will be. At least there won't be a cliffhanger... OR WILL THERE! Dum-dum-DUM. (but there probably won't be, seeing as how I don't think they could/would tie up a cliffhanger in the Christmas special.)

There are a whole bunch of theories about Utopia floating around. Considering the one year Jack goes back to, 1869,then says he settled in Cardiff, could we perhaps finally be getting some Gwen / Gweneth connection?
On the other hand, it might be RTD messing with our heads. It's even odds.

I'm sad to say I've never seen Torchwood (it doesn't air on any channel in the states and I haven't gotten around to watching it online) so if Torchwood-related things happen, they'll be lost on me entirely.
What are your feelings on the Toclafane? If they turn out to be Daleks, I will personally beat the hell out of RTD. I feel like they're the Time Lords.

I am surprised there is not more people watching this show I love it.

Continuity gone mad!
Doctor Who? Seriously though, I love the new series, er, serieses, but I wish they would lean slightly less on the callbacks to previous serieses as 1) I haven't watched them 2) only big British geeks have 3) the episodes go back for decades and decades and 4) many of them were destroyed by the BBC. That's some serious continuity to observe.
But still love it, the anglophile that I am. Best part, ridiculous voiceovers for the BBC on the credits. "Doctor Who is back to it's later time next week at 7:40. Stay tunes for Pollywogs and something or another." What?
Now what about Torchwood? For all you Americans who haven't had it yet, enjoy.
