It's hard to tell so early, but who are your favorites thus far? I'm going to have to go with dreamy Aussie guy...I can't imagine he doesn't make it through to the top 12.

- Dude, why is Ryan so scruffy tonight? He can't shave for charity?
- OMG BONO I LOVE YOU OKAY.
- Awwww, it's the Coldplay Song of Starving African Babies Are Sad. Seriously, though, Simon crying was the Wrongest Wrongity in Wrongville. It's like seeing Satan crying. DO NOT WANT.
- Chris: Whoa, he was brilliant tonight. He totally made up for last week's travesty. I was a bit annoyed by his overuse of the Sassy White Boy Head Bob but his vocals were so strong that I can easily overlook that minor annoyance. I'm so proud of him.
- Okay, why did Ryan say Bono was the guest mentor if we're not going to get to see him, y'know, mentoring each contestant? I CALL SHENANIGANS.
- Hi, Brandon Rogers! You're still ridiculously pretty.
- Melinda: Between last week and tonight, she's back in my good graces. She gave me chills tonight. Absolutely flawless and captivating. Also, loved her dress and shoes, hated her necklace.
- Oh, lord. Can't Ryan and Simon drop the Gay Panic "Comedy" Hour for Idol Gives Back? Obviously not. STFU, both of you.
- Blake: I do think, after the powerful vocal performances that Chris and Melinda delivered, Blake's felt a little boring. But I agree with Paula and Simon that his sincerity shone through and, as always, Blake has that ineffable something that makes him so charismatic. Flove him.

Sanjaya continues to milk his post-Idol 15 minutes. Ellen has a woman dressed up as the "crying girl" in her audience which is pretty funny.
Country Night???

I think its time for Lakisha to go home. "Jesus Take The Wheel"??? That was just a bad bad choice. Carrie Underwood has the ultimate female country voice, and here comes Lakisha trying to turn her gospel voice into a country voice? She had to have known going in that she couldn't pull it off. After last night's performance I realized that she has been riding on the success of "And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls that she sang weeks ago. I haven't ever really liked Lakisha, but until last night I never really disliked her either. Now I think she needs to go home... since I've stopped hoping that Sanjaya will be going home.
Is it just me or was JLo's performance a bit lame?

The only good part of the performance was the dancing and even that was questionable! She hit some notes that would have gotten auditioners rejected and denounced by Simon in round 1!

Only a little over an hour to go here on the east coast until tonight's episode! Jennifer Lopez is the guest coach and the theme is Latin music. However, if anyone actually sings a song in Spanish, I will keel over from the shock. Heh. My favorites still in the competition are Blake, Chris R., Jordin and Sanjaya (no, really!) so I hope they all do well tonight. :)
